Crispy White

I can't believe that New Year is right around the corner! And now I'm sitting in the kitchen and planning a menu for New Year's night, I still need to write a list of food and drinks to buy though. Also, I need to wrap up some presents ;) There are so many things to accomplish in these 2 last days of 2010!

Даже не верится, что Новый год уже совсем рядом! Сижу на кухне и составляю меню на новогоднюю ночь, осталось написать список продуктов и напитков, которые нужно купить, а ещё мне нужно упаковать подарки ;) Так много нужно успеть всего за эти последние 2 дня уходящего года!
*ношу сегодня вязанные вещи и как обычно джинсы (кофта из Anthropologie, шарф H&M, джинсы Abercrombie&Fitch).

Long Winter Nights

 I love winter. I love snow, blizzards, cold weather, skiing, and ice skating. Probably this is because I grew up in a northern climate. But more than anything else, during cold winter nights I love staying at home with my loved ones, having hot tea with lemon and honey :) It's cold and windy outside, and at home it feels so nice and cozy with the Christmas lights on, with a glass of champagne and chocolates  :)

Я люблю зиму. Люблю снег, метели, холодную погоду, горные лыжи и коньки. Наверное, это от того, что я выросла в северном климате. Но больше всего, длинными зимними вечерами я люблю сидеть дома с дорогими сердцу людьми и пить чай с лимоном и мёдом :) На улице холодно, ужасный ветер, а дома тепло, хорошо и уютно с бокалом шампанского и шоколадкой, и с новогодними огоньками :)

Flurries

Good morning! I've been trying to have a breakfast for the last hour but still have not succeeded :D
Anyways, yesterday I got a chance to see some snowflakes :) Also, I did a little bit of shopping at Pier 1 Imports, it's a cute store, I like it! The rest of the day I spent at home cuddling by the Christmas tree and watching movies :) Have a great day everyone!

Waiting for Snow

Local forecast promised lots of snow yesterday, today and tomorrow, and we still didn't get any... But I still have a hope :) Yesterday I went to the airport to meet my good friend, she was traveling overseas and had a 4-hour layover, so we spent Christmas day sitting and chatting in Starbucks at the airport :) I was so happy to see her! In the evening we had dinner with friends at our place, and after we headed to a Christmas/Birthday party where I had so much fun!!! Christmas day was very busy but fun and enjoyable at the same time :)
Oh, do you like my mittens? I just love them! It was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend :)


Местный прогноз погоды обещал много снега вчера и сегодня, и завтра, но снега до сих пор не было... Но я не теряю надежды :)
Вчера я ездила в аэропорт встретиться с подругой, она летела в другую страну, и у неё был 4-часовой перерыв между самолётами, поэтому мы провели Рождественский день в Старбаксе в аэропорту, болтая обо всём :) Я так была рада её видеть!!! А вечером мы устраивали ужин для друзей, после ужина все поехали на вечеринку в честь Рождества и Дня Рождения одного из друзей, было так весело! Вот такой занятой был вчерашний день :)
А ещё мне очень нравятся мои варежки, один из подарков любимого на Рождество :)

Isn't it wonderful waking up early on Christmas morning when it's dark outside, and everything is still and quiet because everybody is sleeping? Once you turn the lights on, you'll see all the sweets and presents that Santa left for you :)

At the Mall

Last night after watching several movies in a row, we decided to go to the mall which is very close to our house. It was 10 pm and the good thing about malls during this time of the year - they are open late :)
I'm planning to go for Christmas/New Year's shopping this afternoon, I have quite a big list of presents and other things to buy :) Oh, Christmas!!

Вчера вечером после просмотра нескольких фильмов подряд, мы решили отправится в молл в 10 часов вечера. Самое приятное, что моллы в это время года открыты допоздна :) Сегодня после обеда буду делать новогодне-рождественские покупки :)

Getting Ready for Holidays

When I got home, a big surprise was waiting for me. A big Christmas tree :) I was happy and excited as a child :) I need to go to a store to get more ornaments though. Those that we bought are not enough for such a big tree. And I absolutely love the smell of the Christmas tree! It creates a magical and cheerful spirit of holidays :)

Когда я вернулась домой, меня ждал большой сюрприз. Большая ёлка :) Я была очень-очень рада :) Мне нужно съездить в магазин и купить побольше ёлочных украшений, потому что тех, что мы купили, оказывается, не достаточно для такой большой ёлки! А ещё мне очень нравится еловый запах! Сразу создаётся радостное и волшебное ощущение праздника :)

Dinner at Sequoia

Last night we were at Sequoia restaurant (Washington, DC). It was a Christmas party with a lot of guests, delicious food and great music. This restaurant is located in such a beautiful place, and all those decorations and fountain made it look spectacular. Too bad I wasn't able to take whole bunch of pictures but at least you have an idea how it looked like :)

Weekend

Hello! What a great feeling waking up not with an alarm clock but because you slept long enough and ready to start a new day. That's why I love weekends :) I had very late breakfast which on any other day would be considered as lunch. Now I need to start getting ready for the Christmas party which is starting at 5.30 pm.

Привет! Как всё-таки здорово просыпаться не по звону будильника а от того, что ты уже так долго спал, и организм уже готов проснуться и начать новый день. Поэтому я люблю выходные :) И завтрак был поздний, в любой другой день это бы был обед. А сейчас мне нужно готовиться к ужину, на который мы идём в 5.30.

Finally Winter

It was snowing today! Finally. I was so happy :) Though I had to spend 3,5 hours in traffic driving home (and I even wasn't able to take any pictures because by the time I got home it was dark outside). I ate the entire package of cookies I had with me because I was so hungry. And I didn't want to stop and get something to eat because I would spend even more time driving home.
We have a Christmas party to go to on Saturday night which I'm very excited about!
This week was extremely busy and I'm happy that it's almost over :) The perfect time to get rewarded with snow, tulips and some champaign ;)

Сегодня был снег! Наконец-то. Я была такая счастливаяяя :) несмотря на то что 3 с половиной часа ехала с учёбы домой. Даже не успела сфотографировать снег (потому как когда приехала домой уже было темно). Пока ехала, съела целую упаковку печенья, очень хотелось кушать. А останавливаться по пути, чтобы купить что-нибудь не хотелось, чтобы не тратить время.
В субботу мы идём на Рождественский ужин, жду-не дождусь!
Эта неделя была такой сложной и занятой, честно говоря я рада, что она подходит к концу :) Самое время, чтобы порадоваться снегу, тюльпанам и шампанскому ;)

Holiday Spirit

I was at the mall yesterday to pick some holiday cards. I got a box of them and now I'm in a holiday spirit writing the best wishes to my loved ones. And very soon these cards will be traveling all over the world :) It's embarrassing but I'm sort of forgetting sometimes how to write letters in my native language, so I have to practice a little and make a draft first :D Also, I got this lovely bracelet with chains, beads and ribbon. Isn't it cute? :)

Вчера я была в молле, специально чтобы купить открытки к надвигающимся праздникам. Купила целую коробку и сейчас сижу с новогодним настроением, подписываю открытки дорогим мне людям. Совсем скоро мои открытки отправятся в самые разные точки Земли :) Стыдно признаться, но забываю как писать некоторые буквы на родном языке. Поэтому приходиться писать сначала на черновике, а потом уже переписывать начисто :D А ещё купила вот этот браслетик с цепочками, бусинками и ленточкой. Хорошенький такой, вам не кажется? :)

Pea-coat

 Yesterday we had the first snow :) It was a little bit of snow, tiny flurries but still. Today is all sunny and warm. And I'm wearing my favorite pea-coat that I got from Nordstrom. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Faux Fur

Today's outfit - leather jacket, fake fur collar, grey pants, booties and big clutch. The only thing that pisses me off is wind! My hair is all over the place! It doesn't show on the pictures that much but my hair is really messy today :D Also, today is my cousin's Birthday :) Happy Birthday darling!!!

Что я сегодня ношу - кожаную куртку, воротник с искусственным мехом (здесь натуральный мех мало кто ценит), серые брюки, ботинки и вместительную сумочку ( не знаю опять же как по-русски, по-англ. clutch  "клатч"). Единственное, что меня раздражает так это ветер. Волосы во все стороны! На фотографиях этого не видно, но уж поверьте волосы у меня сегодня выглядят впечатляюще : D А ещё сегодня у моей двоюродной сестры День Рождения :) С Днём Рождения, дорогая!!!

Make a Wish

Before my next trip to Sephora I decided to make a list of things I really-really need right now. It's always easier when you have a plan in the head or on a paper. Ok, here are the items:

Caudalie Radiance Regimen. I already tried Caudalie's Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and I loved it. I used it during all summer, and it really did make my skin look radiant and healthy. 

The next one is Clarins Self Tanning Mousse. I never used it before but I heard positive reviews of this self-tanner. Considering how pale I am, I would definitely give it a try. 

Dior Complexion Perfection Collection. I love Dior. This collection has everything you need to make your skin look so perfect!

Of course, the palette. This one is from Sephora. I love playing around with make up and trying out different eye-shadows and lipsticks. Though in every day life I usually use neutral colors for my make up. But it's just fun to use the face as canvas and paint away sometimes :)

And Stella Parfum by Stella McCartney. It's very sensual, intense, and feminine. 

It'll go well with the lace ;)

Summer Memories

As I was going through my pictures, I found these ones taken in summer. Looking at these pictures now it's like a therapy since it is so cold and windy outside. I'm sitting wrapped up in a blanket, drinking hot tea with lemon and looking at the bright summer life left in the files of my computer. I love summer so much! For me summer is... wearing a lot of stripes, panama hat, shorts... wish-flowers, Coca-Cola, Iced Caramel Machiatto,.. picking peaches and blackberries, going to a tiny island Chincoteague (Atlantic Ocean), "Banana Boat" sunscreen, lying down on the beach trying to get tiny bit tanned, sitting on a pier with friend(s) talking about everything and drinking wine... So many emotions and memories in one word "SUMMER" :)

Просматривала свои фотографии и нашла вот эти, летние. Сейчас на них смотреть ещё приятнее, потому как на улице ветер и холод. А я сижу, закутавшись в одеяло, пью горячий чай и смотрю на кусочки лета, оставшиеся в моём компьютере. Я очень люблю лето! Для меня лето - это носить много-много полосатых вещей, шляпy-панамy, шорты... это одуванчики, кока-кола, ледяной кофе со льдом,.. собирать персики и ежевику, это маленький островок Шинкотиг в Атлантическом океане, запах солнцезащитного крема "Banana Boat", лежать на пляже целый день и пытаться хоть чуточку загореть, сидеть на пирсе и болтать обо всём с подругами (подругой) и пить вино... Столько эмоций и воспоминаний с простым словом "ЛЕТО" :)

Bookstore

The weekend was great - I slept, did homework, cooked a little, visited friends and even spent some time outside :)
I hope you had a great weekend, too! As usual, I need to have breakfast and go to work ;)


Выходные прошли отлично: я спала, дела уроки, немного готовила, ходила в гости к друзьям и даже гуляла на улице :)
