It's Cherry Blossom Time

Despite the hectic schedule during the week, Michael and I managed to go to see the cherry blossoms early Thursday morning. Needless to say how happy I was to see all the gorgeous blooming trees around the Tidal Basin. The weather has been absolutely incredible this week, and I got to wear my new J. Crew dress. Only later I realized that the lacy flowers on my dress look absolutely identical to the flowers on the cherry trees! What a coincidence.

Places: Georgetown

Most people associate Washington, D.C. with the White House, the Capitol and monuments. But I wanted to introduce you to Georgetown, a historic neighborhood and my most favorite place in DC. Georgetown has an eclectic blend of shops, boutiques, bakeries and restaurants, and its streets lined with Georgian mansions and Victorian row houses give this neighborhood a lovely small-town feel. If you ever decide to visit the capital of the United States, make sure to visit this district, I hope you will love it as much as I do.

Зачастую люди ассоциируют Вашингтон (округ Колумбия) с Белым Домом, с Капитолием и монументами. В своё время у меня тоже было о Вашингтоне такое представление из учебника по английскому. Но я бы хотела вас познакомить с районом Вашингтона, который называется Джорджтаун (Georgetown), моим самым любимым районом города. Джорджтаун - это исторический район Вашингтонa со множеством магазинов, бутиков и самых разнообразных ресторанчиков, с вымощенными улицами, застроенными старинными особняками и викторианскими домами. Здесь очень уютно и красиво. Если вы когда-нибудь окажетесь в столице Америки, не забудьте посетить Джорджтаун, я очень надеюсь, что вы его полюбите так, как люблю его я.

Snowless Winter

It's almost winter here, almost. We even got some snow on Monday afternoon but the sad part is... it melted right away. Unhappy face.

Somewhat of a winter outfit with a favorite coat and faux fur collar to make it look more winterish. Please don't blame me for wearing these pants in every other post, they are just too awesome, and I've been living in them for the last two weeks :)

У нас почти зима. В понедельник даже шёл снег, но тут же растаял. 

Наконец-то можно носить что-то более менее подходящее для зимы - пальто и воротник. А кожаные брюки ношу почти каждый день уже недели две, думаю, что вы заметили :)

New Year, New Dreams

Hello lovelies! :) First of all, thank you for all the kind wishes, comments and emails I received from you during the holidays, I feel so grateful to have you guys in my life :) I hope you all had wonderful holidays!

I want to say Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate Orthodox Christmas (which is today). It always has been a very special holiday for me since I was born and raised in Russia where Christmas is celebrated on January 7th. Usually around Christmas time it gets very cold in Russia and here we have 68F today! (almost 20C) Can you believe it? Bunny and I took advantage of this beautiful weather and took these pictures today on the way to Starbucks :)

Next week I'm finishing my internship at the credit corporation which I feel excited about and sad at the same time. From one side I will miss the office a lot but from another side I'm so excited about other projects :)

Всем привет :) Во-первых, всем огромное спасибо за сообщения и поздравления, которые я получала за прошедшие недели, так радостно, что вы есть в моей жизни :) Надеюсь, что все вы замечательно провели новогодние праздники!
Ещё хочу поздравить с православным Рождеством тех, кто его отмечает. Этот праздник всегда был особенным для меня, т.к. родилась и выросла я в России. Обычно у нас дома всегда стояли морозы на Рождество, а здесь сегодня почти +20! Мы с Банни, радуясь тёплой погоде, решили пофотографировать сегодня по пути в Старбакс :)
На следующей неделе я заканчиваю практику в кредитной корпорации. С одной стороны грустно, т.к. знаю, что буду скучать по офису, а с другой стороны - очень радостно, т.к. много разных идей и проектов, на которые у меня наконец-то появится время :)

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Shopping in Georgetown on Saturday night. I love how all the lights around create that wonderful feeling of magic. And we finally got our own Christmas tree which instantly created the atmosphere of winter holidays :)

Caramel Macchiato

September arrived along with my lovely big brother's Birthday, falling leaves, crisp apples, cooler days and hot drinks :) Oh, and I forgot - warmer clothes. I'm transitioning from my favorite iced caramel macchiato to hot drinks that keep  me feeling warm and cozy. And I just can't wait to see abundance of pumpkins in the markets :) I love fall.

Сентябрь. Ассоциации: День Рождения любимого брата, опадающие листья, яблоки, прохладные дни и горячие (не путать с горячительными) напитки :) Переключаюсь в Старбаксе с ледяного маккиато на горячий чай, чтобы не мёрзнуть. Ещё жду-не дождусь увидеть море тыкв на рынках и в магазинах :) Да, я люблю осень.

"Her eyes are like angels but her heart is cold"

I remember finding this skirt in H&M 3 years ago right before going on a trip to Russia, Germany and France. I was madly in love with this leather skirt, I took it on my trip and wore it fearlessly for the nights out. Upon arrival in the US, I sort of forgot about the skirt and it was just hanging in my closet. Few weeks ago I discovered this pretty thing while cleaning out my closet and it brought back so many memories from that wonderful summer! :)

Помню нашла эту юбку в H&M 3 года назад, как раз перед самой поездкой в Россию, Германию и Францию. Юбку я успела поносить и там и там, и там. Когда вернулась в Америку, почему-то совсем забыла про неё, так она и висела на вешалке до того дня, пока я не решила навести порядок в гардеробной. Нашла юбку, и нахлынули на меня все воспоминания, как мы ездили ночью в продуктовый магазин с подругами в России, как грелись в кофейне в Кёльне, потому что было дождливо и холодно, и как я оказалась в ночном Париже, который встретил меня огнями и выглядел именно так, как на картинке, каким я его себе представляла всегда... :)

Color of the Night

Friday night started with a movie at home and a late night visit to the seafood restaurant. So casual and so relaxing. Bunny and I were sitting outside by the fountains which reminded us of Las Vegas and the Fountains of Bellagio, and all the great time and fun we had while in Las Vegas :)
This week I was informed by Antonia and Mani of Fashion Imperative that I've been featured in their Stylish Fashion Bloggers post. I must say I'm very flattered because the girls I've been featured with are absolutely amazing (not to mention beautiful and stylish). Thank you very much, Antonia and Mani! You are awesome :)
This weekend we were planning to go to the beach but it had to be cancelled due to the the weather, I'm sure most of you heard of the hurricane Irene. I'm hoping that it will not be as destructive as it's supposed to be.

Пятничный вечер начался просмотром фильма (дома) и походом в ресторан поздной ночью. Сидели с Банни за столиком на улице, рядом с фонтаном, что напомнило о нашей поездке в Лас Вегас и о красивых фотанах Белладжио, и вообще напомнило какая замечательная была поездка и как хочется туда ещё :)
Ещё на этой неделе мне сообщили о том, что один замечательный блог Fashion Imperative включил меня в список стильных блоггеров, что меня приятно удивило и очень порадовало. Спасибо, Antonia and Mani, за то, что включили меня в этот список :)
В эти выходные мы планировали ехать на пляж с друзьями, но поездку пришлось отменить из-за надвигающегося урагана. Я всё же надеюсь, что ураган будет не таким разрушетельным, каким его ожидают.

Leather Skirt

Back few months ago I spotted an Yves Saint Laurent brown leather skirt which looked oh-so-perfect. The only issue was the price - $7,550. Imagine how happy I was when I saw this leatherette skirt at Forever21 which looks very much alike, and it's only $22.80! It doesn't take much to make me happy :)

Yesterday was quite a stressful day because of the earthquake we experienced here, on the East Coast of the USA. Honestly, I didn't feel anything! I was driving when it happened, and as I was driving I saw people pouring into the streets. Thank God, no injuries or damages were reported but the entire city went crazy and the traffic was insane.

Пару месяцев назад я увидела кожаную юбку от Yves Saint Laurent, юбка показалась мне идеальной, за исключением цены - 7.550 долларов. Представьте мою радость, когда я увидела очень похожую юбку в Forever21 всего за 22 доллара 80 центов! Мне оказывается совсем немного для счастья надо :)

Вчера был нервный день из-за землятресения, которое произошло на восточном побережье США. Честно сказать, я совсем ничего не почувствовала! Я как раз была за рулём, поняла, что что-то случилось, когда увидела толпы людей на улицах. Слава Богу, ни жертв, ни разрушений не было, но весь город словно сошёл с ума, и пробки на дорогах были ужасные.
